Inventory Main Menu

The bulk plant inventory is of primary interest to oil jobbers; however as explained on the C-Store Menu screen, the pseudo bulk plants for the stores are maintained here as well.

Outstanding Benefits:

    Key structure:

The key structure determines how inventory is organized and categorized in your system. A twenty character inventory key allows for the setting up and storing of millions of different fuel and bulk plant inventory accounts. Inventory can be set up by class, line, item and branch and site. This key structure provides for excellent organization of your inventory items.

    Adjustments:

Normally inventory is adjusted on a monthly basis, but you can adjust your inventory as often as you'd like and at anytime you'd like. C-Store fuel is adjusted through ST15, which adjust the pseudo bulk plant as well. All tax entries are made automatically by the system.

Bulk plants are tied to taxing entities through IN12. The system checks this tax code while making automatic decisions about adjustments to prepaid inventory taxes.

    Methods of Costing:

StoreReport employs the most modern way of tracking inventory items in a bulk plant. Inventory items are re-averaged daily to provide an accurate cost for each item of inventory sold. Inventory costs are maintained to five decimal positions. Sometimes $0.00250 cents may be all the profit made on a gallon of fuel. You need to know that information.

    Inventory Pricing:

Over the years we have accumulated four or five ways of pricing inventory to customers. These methods are described in the text and are too numerous and involved to discuss on this page. See IN01, PS02, PS03, AR08 and PS16 for more details.

    Point-Of-Sale Invoicing:

A very powerful point of sale invoicing program (PS01) is provided for bulk plant inventory sales. You may create picking tickets and print invoices at the counter. The system provides for inventory availability checking, taxing by location, and customer pricing. Cash and credit sales, and discount and miscellaneous charges are supported as well.

    Taxes:

There are many tax codes available to assign to inventory items. See IN01 for more details. Coupled with the information provided in TX09, taxing is virtually automatic in the system. The system will know when customers are usually taxed on a particular item, but can allow the operator to exempt them as the invoice is being created.

Each item of inventory is taxed separately and provision have been made to apply sales taxes at the point-of-delivery if needed.

    Blending:

Provisions for splash blending are built into the inventory system.
